Minutes

The Board of Supervisors of Carroll County, Iowa met in regular adjourned session in the Boardroom of the Courthouse, in Carroll, Iowa, the County seat of said County on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. Daylight Saving Time pursuant to law, the rules of said Board and to the adjournment with the following members present: Mark Beardmore, Eugene Meiners, Dan Nieland, Marty Danzer and Neil Bock.

Motion by Meiners, second by Danzer to approve the agenda as presented. On roll call, all voted aye. Motion by Bock, second by Meiners to approve the minutes of the August 27, 2012 meeting as written. On roll call, all voted aye.

Motion by Danzer, second by Nieland to approve a letter to Governor Branstad stating the county’s opposition to proposed changes by the Iowa Elevator Safety Board. On roll call, all voted aye.

Board reviewed manure management annual updates for the following: Matt & Rhonda Conner, Conner Finishing Site, in Section 7 of Glidden Township; Dennis Riesberg in Section 19 of Roselle Township; John & William Grote, Grote Brothers Finisher, in Section 28 of Wheatland Township; Joe Danner in Section 22 of Glidden Township; Prestage Farms of Iowa, LLC, PI-233 Finisher, in Section 24 of Richland Township; and Prestage Farms of Iowa, LLC, PI-323 Finisher, in Section 31 of Jackson Township, Calhoun County.

Meiners reported on CADC and New Opportunities.

Nieland reported on Maple River community meeting, DNR variance for Maple River wastewater system operator, Board of Health meeting, Region V Hazmat and burn ban meetings.

Danzer reported on WESCO and Region XII.

Bock reported on Case Management Advisory Board meeting, Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee meeting, new DNR regional director, and upcoming middle and south Raccoon River watershed meeting.

Beardmore reported on Case Management Advisory Board, meeting with Case Management staff, new DNR regional director, and ad posting for ambulance director.

Motion by Danzer, second by Nieland to adjourn at 9:45 a.m. On roll call, all voted aye.
