Minutes

The Board of Supervisors of Carroll County, Iowa met in regular adjourned session in the Boardroom of the Courthouse, in Carroll, Iowa, the County seat of said County on Monday, October 8, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. Daylight Saving Time pursuant to law, the rules of said Board and to the adjournment with the following members present: Mark Beardmore, Eugene Meiners, Dan Nieland, Marty Danzer and Neil Bock.

Motion by Bock, second by Nieland to approve the agenda as presented. On roll call, all voted aye. Motion by Meiners, second by Danzer to approve the minutes of the October 1, 2012 meeting as written. On roll call, all voted aye.

Board heard comments and suggestions from Phil Phillips regarding the Sauk Rail Trail.

Carl Wilburn gave a quarterly report for the IT, GIS, and Planning & Zoning departments, including an update on the Barrier 1 Appliance and the attacks that have been blocked by this device.

Motion by Bock, second by Meiners to approve two plats of survey: Lot 2, NE1/4 SE1/4, Section 12-83-33 and Lot 2, NW FRL1/4 NW FRL1/4, Section 1-82-34. On roll call, all voted aye.

Motion by Meiners, second by Danzer to approve claims for payment with one conservation claim removed for further review. On roll call, all voted aye.

Meiners reported on CADC and Ambulance union meeting.

Nieland reported on Maple River West Side Sewerline audit.

Danzer met with a county resident concerning a Level B road.

Bock reported on County magazine article, Middle and South Raccoon River Watershed, Mental Health Stakeholders’ meeting, and 2nd Judicial District.

Beardmore reported on Middle and South Raccoon River Watershed, Mental Health Stakeholders’ meeting, Ambulance union meeting and Library Focus Group meeting.

Meiners left the meeting at 10:03 a.m.

Motion by Danzer, second by Bock to adjourn at 10:07 a.m. On roll call, all present voted aye.
